Working Principle of Carbon Molecular Sieve in Nitrogen Production
- Selective Adsorption Mechanism: Under compression conditions, carbon molecular sieve can selectively adsorb oxygen and nitrogen. Due to the smaller diameter of oxygen molecules, their diffusion rate is faster than that of nitrogen molecules.
- PSA Nitrogen Generation Process: When air passes through pressure swing adsorption (PSA) facilities, oxygen molecules are mostly adsorbed by the carbon molecular sieve, leaving mainly nitrogen molecules, thus achieving nitrogen production. This method is known as PSA nitrogen making.
