Why Use 3A Molecular Sieve For Insulating Glass Desiccant

Molecular sieves are a type of crystalline aluminosilicate with uniform pore size and extremely high specific surface area. According to their crystal structure, they can divide into 3A molecular sieves, 4A molecular sieves, 5A molecular sieves, 13A molecular sieves, etc. They have strong and effective moisture absorption and can adsorb methanol, ethanol, hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, etc.

Product features:

Harmless and non corrosive;
Chemical stability, wear resistance, and strong mechanical strength;
The moisture absorption performance is less affected by environmental humidity, and can still absorb a large amount of water vapor at ultra-low humidity (RH=5% or below), with strong moisture control ability;

Can use multiple times;
Product application:
Widely used for dehydration of various liquids, paints, fuels, coatings, drying and desulfurization of liquefied petroleum gas and liquid hydrocarbons, drying of air, gas, ethane, propane, acetylene, etc.

It also used for moisture-proof of products in the fields of biopharmaceuticals and semiconductors.

Why use 3A molecular sieve for insulating glass desiccant

Because the lattice pores of 3A molecular sieve are 3 angstroms, which is the smallest among all molecular sieves. It can only absorb water and cannot absorb any other components in the air, because the critical diameter of water molecules is 2.8 angstroms.

And their polarity is very strong Any other type of molecular sieve can adsorb oxygen or nitrogen from the air, and this adsorption ability is highly sensitive to small temperature changes.

When the temperature slightly decreases, other types of molecular sieves will adsorb a large amount of air inside the insulating glass, resulting in a vacuum state.

When the temperature rises, the molecular sieve releases a large amount of air into the spacer layer, causing the air inside the insulating glass to expand With the change of temperature difference between day and night and the change of seasons, insulating glass easily twisted and broken due to expansion and contraction, resulting in a shortened lifespan Sudden breakage of glass can lead to major accidents So, in order to strictly use non-3A molecular sieves as desiccants for air dried insulating glass.
4A molecular sieve cannot use for insulating glass desiccant because it not only absorbs water, but also certain gases in the air, such as nitrogen and oxygen. When 4A molecular sieve used in insulating glass, it will absorb and release air with temperature differences, which can easily cause glass expansion or distortion deformation, and seriously lead to major accidents. If you are making insulating glass, you must choose 3A molecular sieves produced by regular manufacturers.
