Modified molecular sieve activated powder is a white fine powder product. It is prepared by high-temperature roasting of synthetic zeolite molecular sieve raw powder with the addition of stabilizers or suspending agents. Due to the loss of most of the moisture during the high-temperature roasting process. It has strong activity and can be directly used as a selective adsorbent in production. It has excellent dispersibility and can be perfectly compatible with commonly used polyethers, isocyanates, and polyols.
Key Properties of Modified Molecular Sieve Activated Powder
- Strong Adsorption Capacity: It can deeply remove various moisture sources in the polyurethane system. And effectively adsorb trace moisture and other small molecular impurities in materials. In metal coating systems, it can reduce the moisture content to below 0.1%.
- Good Compatibility and Dispersibility: It has excellent dispersibility and can be perfectly compatible with existing commonly used polyethers, isocyanates, and polyols. The particle size is finer, distributed more uniformly in the system, and the quality of each batch of products is stable.
- Extended Working Life: Specially suitable for the production of polyurethane electronic potting compounds, allowing sufficient time for construction operations. In two-component polyurethane adhesives or systems with special requirements for pot life, it can provide a longer service life.
Main Applications of Modified Molecular Sieve Activated Powder
In Polyurethane Systems
It can be used in polyurethane adhesives, sealants, floor coatings, polyurethane rubber race playground, resin, silicone sealants, etc. It can effectively remove moisture, avoid bubble generation, make the paint film surface smoother and seamless, and improve product viscosity. It is strongly recommended to add modified molecular sieve activated powder before the isocyanate component comes into contact with moisture.
In Coatings and Paints
In metal pigment paints and coatings, it can prevent active metals from reacting with water to produce hydrogen. Control the release of hydrogen, and ensure the stability of coatings during storage. Adding about 1%wt of molecular sieve activated powder to the metal-rich paint system can perfectly avoid the side reaction of water in the system. It is also used for dehydration and deodorization of pigments and solvents.
In Other Fields
- It can be added to hollow glass rubber strips or hollow glass polymer foam as an amorphous desiccant to absorb moisture in the air.
- It can be used as a selective adsorbent in specific polymer or coating production processes to adsorb waste gases such as carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide generated during production.
