Introduction to 0.3-0.5mm Activated Alumina

The 0.3-0.5mm activated alumina, as a specification, has its unique characteristics and wide range of applications. Activated alumina is a porous, high-dispersion solid material with a large surface area and high activity.

Characteristics of 0.3-0.5mm Activated Alumina

  • Physical properties: It is a white spherical granular substance with no odor. It is non-powdering, non-breaking, non-swelling, and insoluble in water. When immersed in water, it does not become soft. It has a bulk density of 0.68~0.8 g/ml, a surface area of 200-360 m²/g, and pore volume of 0.3-0.5 ml/g .
  • Chemical properties: It has strong affinity for water, oxides, acetic acid, alkali, etc. It is a kind of micro-water deep desiccant and also an adsorbent for absorptive molecules.

Applications of 0.3-0.5mm Activated Alumina

  • Desiccant: Suitable for drying various gases and liquids. It used in the drying of transformer oil, as a gas drying agent in the oxygen production industry, textile industry, and electronics industry, and as a drying and purifying agent in the chemical fertilizer and petrochemical industries. The dew point can reach below -40℃, and in the pressure swing adsorption of the air separation industry, the dew point can reach -55℃.
  • Adsorbent: It has a good adsorption effect on fluoride ions in water. It can be as a defluorinating agent for high-fluoride water, and can also be to remove colors and odors from industrial sewage. In addition, it can adsorb lubricating oil and other oil vapors from contaminated oxygen, hydrogen, and sulfur dioxide.
  • Catalyst carrier: It can be as a catalyst carrier. According to the purpose of the catalyst, appropriate active additives (such as MO-Al, Ni-Al, Mn-Al, Ti-Al, CO-Al, K-Al, etc.) can be to make catalysts for petroleum chemical preparation, oil refining, chemical catalysts, hydrodesulfurization, and low-temperature shift catalysts.

Precautions for Use of 0.3-0.5mm Activated Alumina

  • Storage: The product should be stored in a dry indoor place to avoid moisture
  • Regeneration: When the adsorption is saturated, it can be reheated at 175℃-400℃ to remove water for regeneration, and adsorption and regeneration can be carried out many times.
  • Safety: When storing, using, and transporting, please follow the chemical safety technical specification (MSDS/SDS) to avoid improper operation that may cause personal and environmental safety risks. Hazardous waste generated should be handled by professional institutions
