Introduction and Application Fields of Ceramic Raschig Ring

The ceramic Raschig ring developed by F. Raschig in 1914. It an early invented loose packing material with a fixed geometric shape. Its appearance is simple, and its height is equal to its diameter. Large sized Raschig rings (over 100MM) are generally in a neat manner, while Raschig rings smaller than 75mm are generally in a disorderly manner.

The Feature of Ceramic Raschig Ring

Raschig ceramic ring packing is a type of annular packing with equal height and diameter openings. Due to its high porosity, large gaps, high flux, and low resistance, Raschig ceramic ring packing allows gases and liquids to freely pass through the packing tower. The distribution of gases and liquids in the packing layer is relatively good, especially the inner surface of the packing ring easily wet by liquid, making the inner surface fully utilize. Therefore, not only does it have a large throughput capacity and low pressure drop, but the mass transfer and separation efficiency of the tower is also high. Regardless of the orientation of the Raschig porcelain ring used to fill the tower, the liquid sprayed onto the packing will flow along both the outer and inner walls. In this way, the dispersion of the liquid and the utilization rate of the inner surface of the filler improved.

Raschig ceramic ring fillers have excellent acid and heat resistance, and can withstand corrosion from various inorganic acids, acids, and solvents except hydrofluoric acid. They can be in various high and low temperature environments and have a wide range of applications. Drying towers, absorption towers, cooling towers, washing towers, towers, etc. that can be in industries such as chemical, metallurgical, gas, oxygen production, etc.
